I used to make a whole lot of noise
And yet not be heard
Now I let my silence do the talking
Which may be understood or misunderstood
Or altogether differently construed
It’s a coin’s toss really
But either way
I walk out of it
With a head held high
And a steady breath
With peace and dignity
Outside and within
I’ve traded being considered right
For nonchalance
And in turn retain an inner balance
